When a PDF is the useful output
Some forms and document systems accept PDF attachments even when your source is a photograph or screenshot. Wrapping an image in a PDF gives you a document file, but it does not turn the pictured words into editable or searchable text. That is a separate OCR task.
Prepare the image first
Use a clear JPG or PNG. Crop away unnecessary background and rotate the picture so the content is upright before uploading. If a photograph includes a document, check that all four corners and any small print remain visible. Keep the original photo if you might need to make another crop.
Convert one image with Folio
Open JPG to PDF and choose one image. The upload must be no larger than 10 MB, and its resolution must be at most 10 megapixels. A 4000 by 3000 image is 12 megapixels, so it needs resizing even if its compressed file size is small. Convert, download the PDF and open it to check orientation and legibility.
Combining several images
This tool accepts one image per conversion. Convert each image separately, download the PDFs, then combine them with Merge PDF. Review the selected order before merging. Folio currently has no page-size, margin or image-quality controls, so check the result before using it for printing or an exact-format submission.
