Make the document ready before exporting
PDF export preserves a fixed view of your work, including layout mistakes that were easy to overlook while editing. Review headings, margins, tables and page breaks first. Remove accidental blank pages and make sure section breaks behave as intended.
Decide what the recipient should see
Review comments and tracked changes in your word processor. The export settings may determine whether markup appears. Check document properties and any links, and make a separate final copy if you need to retain an editable draft with review history.
Open the exported PDF
A successful export message is only the beginning of the check. Open the PDF on the device you expect to use, compare its page count, and inspect lines near page boundaries. Missing or substituted fonts can change how text fits. Test important hyperlinks if the recipient needs them.
Availability in Folio
Word to PDF is coming soon. For now, use your word processor’s PDF export or save-as option. Once you have a PDF, Folio’s active tools can merge it with other PDFs, split its pages or try stream compression. Keep the original editable document for future revisions.
